Yes it is true that we are used to eating fried stuff, If wonderful people like you, who are selfless to share your knowledge with us, then we can improve our eating habits.
I have started to develop the taste for stir fried foods, its really delicious and it preserved most of the natural flavours. I have started to love this stir fried stuffs.
Im very eager to meet my cousin in Vancouver, i hope i will have some nice story to share with you'll.
Till then please keep us posted with the best of chinese foods.

vivek,

I know you are chinese food lover, most of the food you eat in Kolkata is 'indianized', most of it are fried. I am not looking down on Indian chinese food, as with most fried food, the end result is stomach 'c' you should know what i mean, fried food and stomach are the twin that shall never meet. Who am i supposed to tell others what not to eat. Anyways stir fry is different most of the authenic chinese food are stir fried.

By the way if you ever make it to NYC, try some of the authentic chinese food in Flushing, NY is the second chinatown in nyc. Vancouver does have large HK immigrants those chinese food are as closed as you can get to HK, Vancouver's Chinatown is as busy as Toronto, so does Los Angeles, SF. The bottom line is if you ever try the exotic food such as Shark fin soup, maine lobster, and so on you should get it in Vancouver,
HK people know how to eat and eat fresh. If you ever have to line up for 3 hours to get a table in Chinese restaurant go for it make sure you bring a
DVD player and a Hindi movie and wait for you seat, that is worth it. So next time in Vancouver try those mainstream Cantonese food. You will not be disappointed. You still are trying for chinese pastries, go for it in Vancouver. If food is not spicy for you, go with chilli sauce that is good for your blood circulation. So try to get on the next flight to Vancouver, and get a report and you have eaten there. Mean time I will still write food recommendation keep your mouth watering.

vivek,

yes, definitely Vancouver is very much like Hong kong in food scene. Once you have been to Canada, it is easy to get US visa.
