MANY PEOPLE IN INDIA THEY DO NOT KNOW THAT TRAMS WHICH WAS BUILT BY BURN- STANDERED & JESSOP,WHICH WERE ALSO GEC & FUJI TRACTION CONTROLLED,THESE TRAMS CAN REACH A SPEED AROUND 70 KMPH WITH A MASSIVE ACCELERATION OF 2M/SECSQ WHICH IS AS SAME AS KOLKATA METRO RAIL. YOU CAN ONLY FEEL THAT HUGE SPEED IF YOU BOARD THE LAST TRAM FROM ANY DEPOT SPECIALLY FROM PARK CIRCUS, GARIAHAT, BELGACHIA.

Unmatched warmth, very little peer pressure, getting amalgamated in the mainstream so easily makes Kolkata an adorable city.

Having come to Kolkata in professional life, I had no friends in Kolkata.I lived in KOlkata for about 7 yrs. and drifted as migrant to Delhi, Pune and finally Mumbai.

But Kolkata, gave me many friends. In Pune,Mumbai ---I have to think "what to do" during my Off-Days.In Mumbai,at the end of the day, I land up in a Shopping Mall.

Certainly I would spend my retired life in Kolkata.....................

It is nice to know the CTC have upgraded their trams. Yet tradition is still the doors are not closed while the trams are moving, remember school days you ran away from the conductor to get free ride and jump out of tram, little did you know the lives are so dangerous, I have known people jump out of trams and get hurt.
