I've found the news article that Yang was looking for (above) on a theme park proposed in Kolkata.

It is titled:
Marvels of Nature off Bypass
- 200-acre theme park inspired by Chinese landmark

Courtesy of the Telegraph - Calcutta

and the links below:-

Let's hope that it becomes a reality soon.....

Hi Leon and Thien,

Sometime ago, I read from the Kolkata Telegraph newspaper that a "little kingdom" was being proposed to be built by a third generation Indian Chinese somewhere in Kolkata ( EM Bypass ???). The picturesque settings and the mini-size or miniatures of the real world-renown structures would be built similar to the Little Kingdom of Shenzhen, China as a tourist attraction spot in Kolkata.

As a matter of fact, this Chinese named Lee ( if my memory serves me right ) had gone over to Shenzhen, China many times with the West Bengal State Authorities responsible for leisure and entertainment to learn and share their best methods, knowledge and to seek their help and support.

The project was supposed to be completed in a few years with fundings from this Chinese gentleman and support from Kolkata State Authorites.

I do not know if this project was stalled or whatever. It would be interesting to check it out further. Thanks.
