Chilli Chicken

Chilli Chicken (Hakka Style)

Ingredients:

  • 2 large onions, chopped
  • 1/2 c vegetable oil
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 6 – 8 chicken thighs, skinned and boned
  • Salt and White Pepper
  • corn starch for coating chicken
  • 5 green chillies, chopped coarsely
  • 1/2 c water
  • 1/4 of msg
  • 1/4 c Soya sauce (dark)
  • 1/4 Soya sauce (light = salty one)
  • 2 tsp corn starch

    Preparation:

    • 1. Cut up chicken into bite-sized chunks, season with salt and pepper
      and coat in a dusting of corn starch.
    • 2. Deep Fry the chicken in oil in a wok, until browned
    • 3. Add chilli, onions and  garlic and fry up,  stir for
      another 30 seconds .
    • 4. Add the deep fried chicken pieces.
    • 5.Stir for about 30 seconds.
    • 6.Sesaon with salt, pepper, and msg  stir for 30 seconds.
    • 7.Add both the Soya sauce (dark + light) and stir it well.
    • 8.For gravy add a lil water and in a bowl mix cornstarch with water and
      then Toss into the centre of the wok, stir until it thickens into a sauce.
    • 7. Serve with steamed rice and steamed or stir-fried vegetables.

I love chilli chicken with daal and rice .. tastyyy  ….. lol
